Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics currently offers M.Sc (Mathematics) and Ph.D Program. The Department strives to provide quality education with all the teachers dedicated to teaching and research. The focus is on building a strong foundation in Mathematics so that students can pursue higher education and research in Pure Mathematics. The curriculum is at par with the best institutions in the country and it is also updated regularly. The alumni are all well-placed in Central and Government Services as well as in the Private Sector. Over the years, many students have also cleared CSIR-NET (JRF) and GATE Examinations and have also progressed onto pursuing higher education in reputed national institutions.

Research activities & Thrust area

At present, the faculty members are engaged in research in their areas of specialization. The areas of research include Combinatorics, Algebra in the Stone-Cech Compactification of discrete semi-group and its application to Ramsey Theory, Ring Theory, Algebraic Number Theory, Operator Theory and Functional Analysis.
