Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics currently offers M.Sc (Mathematics) and Ph.D. program. The goal of the program is to provide students with a solid foundation in Mathematics. The Department strives to be one of the best Mathematics departments in the country and to establish a good reputation as a centre for research and teaching.

Research activities & Thrust area

At present, the faculty members are engaged in research in their areas of specialization. The areas of research represented include Combinatorics, Algebra in the Stone-Cech Compactification of discrete semi group and its application to Ramsey Theory, Ring Theory, Algebraic Number Theory, Operator Theory and Functional Analysis.
